Must. Pet. Puppies.
I'm having a hard time at the moment. And I've decided that the one thing that will cheer me up will be puppies, and lots of quality time with them. However, I'm in a dilemma of where to find such wonderful wriggly carriers of joy, without going to a mall or some other depressing puppy farm breeding ground.
Dog parks aren't usually good puppy places, as owners tend to keep their puppies kind of far from the group, with only a little bit of delicate socializing. And really, what I'd love to do is to ask someone "Would you mind if I borrowed your puppy for an hour or two? I really need to frolic". Yes, I'm not sure how well that would go over. I'm pretty sure said puppy owner would grab their puppy and run away from me.
When I was growing up in Virginia, we'd often go over to the A.S.P.C.A. which wasn't far from my house and go through and maybe play in the kitten room, and visit with the puppies and see all the strange barnyard animals that they had for adoption [and the blind wolf (who I believe died many years ago)]. But it seems that places like the Anti-cruelty League (or whatever it's called) is more of a closed-door place rather than a "stroll through here and play with our puppies" kind of establishment.
But, friends. I need puppies. I need adorable cuteness with perhaps some gnawing on the legs of the couch and my fingers. I know the comments are still busted, so if you have any ideas, write me.
